Foam Printmaking

So, last night I did a demo at Art Mundo to promote my Children's Art classes.  What were we making?  Foam Prints!  These are quick, cheap, and fun.

What do you need?
  • Styrofoam plates
  • scissors
  • pen
  • paint
First I cut the center out of the plates so that I was working with a flat surface.  Then you take the pen and imprint a design into the foam or cut out a shape or stencil.  You can use a brush, roller, or your finger to spread the paint onto the foam.  Place a piece of paper on top, add pressure, and enjoy.

I found that layers of colors looked better than singles.  Here is some of my work from the demo!
