Paula Deen's Old-Time Beef Stew Adaptation

I'm still not sure what the difference between stew and pot roast is exactly, but I like anything that involves slow cooked meat and vegetables.

Here is my adaptation of Paula Deen's recipe.

The main difference is I added potatoes and left out the bay leaves and allspice/cloves (because I didn't have any).  With the added potatoes, I need more liquid, so I threw in a can of beef stock.
